Writing from a train destined for Sävsjö (south of Sweden) where I’m going to visit a customer.
Moved to my new apartment Monday/Tuesday this week. Wonderful apartment, but I’m lacking an internet conenction for the time being, The company that handles the internet connections in the building is Bredbandsbolaget and they seem to have some internal communication problems between their customer service and operations departments. Told ‘em about my move and the date for it six months ago, but they are still having problems getting it done.
No troubles without some light though. In my old apartment i had about 14Mbps of bandwidth, but when all gets set up in the new one I’ll have a full 100Mbps up and down. Fiber connection directly into the building (this is not a strange thing in Sweden).
Another plus is that it already has network cabling in the walls and RJ45 connectors in every room. There’s also a central patch panel in which all networking and telephony can be switched or routed from. For a (WiFi-paranoid) nerd like me thats priceless
No need for insecure access anywhere!
The building I moved to is also newly built and not completely finished, so there are some people running around finishing the last parts. Annoying, but then again, it’s brand new and after they’re done I’ll have the pleasure of destroying it all by myself
Now if those US banks could stop dropping like flies and raising my rates, that would be wonderful…
